The 2nd DRAINE International Conference took place in Grenoble France last week, with valuable contributions from several of the ARENAS consortium members. The conference title was Hate Speech and Emotions: Ideological and Epistemological Issues.
ARENAS consortium representatives included Project Leader Julien Longhi, Béatrice Fracchiolla, Gwenaëlle Bauvois, Stefano Vicari, Nora Gattiglia, and Samuel Vernet who delivered papers on the work they are carrying out in the fields of linguistics, online political discourse and discourse analysis as part of the ARENAS project.
Draine is a multidisciplinary group of researchers who work around hate speech and radical speech and the respective genres related to them. It now brings together about thirty members, from 8 countries (Germany, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Finland, France and Italy) and 18 institutions and universities who collaborate on research and publication projects.
